Do You Know (Part 2) ?

Do you know that right in the midst of a very tough problem, you could chance upon an opportunity that could permanently change your status. Its a matter of perception. Someone rightly said, "How you view things depends on your point of view".  Follow me, as I relay to you the experience of a woman who transited from austerity to abundance. This woman was a widow. Unfortunately, before her husband died, he was neck deep in death. To make matters worse, he couldn't pay before death came calling. Soon the creditors came to ask for  their money. This widow couldn't pay. The creditors then decided to take her sons to be bondmen. This means they would have to work, and keep working till they paid the debt incurred by their late father. This widow, having just lost her husband was not ready to leave her sons to go and slave out their lives. Do you know what she did? First, she didn't pretend as if all was well; she cred out. It is noteworthy that she didn't just cry...

Do you know (Part 1) ?

Do you know that inspite of the peculiar challenges associated with the outgoing year 2020, there are still reasons to be greatful? That you're reading this post means that you are alive, and being alive is the greatest priviledge any mortal could have. Don't forget that "a living dog is better than a dead lion". Do you know that having dashed expectations and unfulfilled dreams is simply because you are alive to still remember what the expectations were in the first place. Do you know that as bad as you claim things are, they  could have been worst. Having spared you from experiencing the very worst, don't you think that God deserves your highest praise? Do you know (God forbid) that if you were dead, life would still go on. After all, life is for the living. The exit of anyone, no matter how highly or lowly placed will not disrupt sunrise and sunset. I tell you, families, friends, associates, neighbours, mentors, mentees, aides, and all others who make you feel ...

COVID -19 Series (Part Four)

We salute the efforts of health professionals, individuals, organizations, government agencies, international organizations, and many others who are working round the clock to halt the further spread of COVID-19, ameliorate the suffering of people through palliatives, as well as provision of timely and relevant information. Of a truth, history will be kind to you. A lot of silent labours are on to make life easier at this trying period. To these ones, your labours will not go unrewarded. In some parts of the world, the number of infections have dropped considerably, while in other parts, the number of those admitted into isolation centres and those discharged are almost at par. This is the more reason why we need to adhere strictly to the guidelines provided by health authorities and government agencies. It is not in the interest of the government that economic activities have been grounded, yet we must remember that we need to be alive first before we can do business, celebrat...

COVID -19 Series (Part Three)

Inspite of the global pandemic, I bring you a message of hope. I say to you: keep faith alive. Look on the brighter side of life. In part two, one word that captioned the message was 'evolve'. It was emphasized that as individual this 'lockdown' provides an ample opportunity for you even at the beginning of a new decade to reflect on the past, reevaluate your priorities, and re-align with God, and your purpose in life. Every other thing is premised on this. Today, we'll examine how families can leverage on the lockdown to become better. In the days gone by, most families had this special bonding. Couples were readily available for each other, as well as playing their individual and collective roles in the home. However, the genuine and legitimate need to survive under the increasing harsh economic conditions compelled couples to do more: take up extra jobs, work late into the nights, etc, sometimes even at the expense of family wellness. No one planned for...

COVID -19 Series (Part Two)

I will start by saying this: being infected with COVID-19 is not a death sentence. Not at all. I hope I could say this more louder. There have been confirmed cases of infected persons who followed due process as laid down by health experts, and were discharged sometimes later when series of tests conducted later proved that the virus was no longer in them. This is the more reason why people need to report as quick as possible when they begin to feel awkward. Due to a number of factors, the immune system of some people is already compromised, hence any kind of infection brings them down if not managed properly. There is no need to fear, stay calm, and follow instructions strictly. While it is important to keep yourself abreast of issues happening at this time. It is equally needful that you mind the source and authenticity of the information you consume and circulate. Many unverified information are in the public domain. Some persons have unfortunately become purveyors of fake...

COVID-19 Series (Part One)

That you are reading this implies that you are alive. That you are living is more than enough reason for you to thank God. To all living souls out there, we say 'Happy New Month'. It will be one of the most memorable ones you have had thus far. It is no longer news that the world is on a lock down due to Corona Virus Infectious Diseases (COVID-19). The number of infections, and mortality continue to rise at an alarming rate. We commiserate with those who have lost loved ones. We pray  that God grants them the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss. For those who are infected, we wish them quick recovery so that they could be integrated back into the society. It has been widely circulated that using alcohol-based hand sanitizers, or washing your hand with soap and water for more than twenty seconds, avoid touching your nose, eye, and mouth, the use of nose mask, sneezing into your elbow, self-isolation if asymptomatic, reporting symptoms of fever and other health con...
....Not Yet I tell you: don't commit suicide today, tomorrow needs you. By now you already know that this life is full of ups and downs. Sometimes, you feel on top of the world, but at other times, its the other way round: the whole world is on top of you. I know many of you can readily relate with this experience. In times like this, many people loose the essence of living. It could get so bad that looking around, you ask, "What the heck!" Its not worth it. Hmm! You might even convince yourself by recalling the African proverb, "Death is better than reproach". But I say to you, "Not yet". Let me attempt to paint a picture. Just follow me. Imagine that you do the unthinkable: committing suicide by whatever means. I ask, "Will that solve the problem?" Go ahead and give me an answer. "At least, I am out of the scene", you reply. I laugh... You say you are out of the scene. I ask rhetorically, "Out of the scene to where?...
