I will start by saying this: being infected with COVID-19 is not a death sentence. Not at all. I hope I could say this more louder. There have been confirmed cases of infected persons who followed due process as laid down by health experts, and were discharged sometimes later when series of tests conducted later proved that the virus was no longer in them. This is the more reason why people need to report as quick as possible when they begin to feel awkward. Due to a number of factors, the immune system of some people is already compromised, hence any kind of infection brings them down if not managed properly. There is no need to fear, stay calm, and follow instructions strictly.
While it is important to keep yourself abreast of issues happening at this time. It is equally needful that you mind the source and authenticity of the information you consume and circulate. Many unverified information are in the public domain. Some persons have unfortunately become purveyors of fake news in the bid to sensitize family, friends, and associates by joining the 'sent as received' crew. Please, be reminded that there is no prize for the first person who disseminates any information. Some have been defrauded of their hard earned resources at this times because of such. Times are hard, do not heat it up any further.
Here is a big question, "How would life be in the post-COVID-19 era? What will become of individuals, families, organizations, and even nations when this phase gives way to the next? May be we should start from the known to the unknown; How best can individuals, families, organizations, and even nations navigate through this times to be better prepared for the next?
First and foremost, we are individuals. Obviously, it is ideal to start at this level because whatever successes achieved at this level can be easily translated across the broad spectrum of families, organizations, and even nations. This is a season of sober reflection. The lock down presents unusual opportunities even for those who would normally not go on break to reflect on past choices and decisions, and how it has brought them to the present. Examine your physical, spiritual, economic, financial, marital, material, professional choices, and how all these have brought you thus far, to this present state.
Do not be superficial, go deep, very deep; go broad. I will advise you spread your sojourn over a couple of days. Be intentional; articulate your thoughts. Re-evaluate your values and priorities, and re-align them. As a person, you need to come into yourself. Have you been living in another person's picture? Have you been living the life of another? Are you struggling to prove a point to some persons? You've got to come into yourself. Luke 15:17, "And when he CAME to HIMSELF, he said, How many HIRED SERVANTS of my father's house have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!" Its the time to align with your maker genuinely. It is time to align with your destiny.
It is time to retreat if you suddenly discovered you have been on the wrong route all this while. A very good friend of mine Kenneth Smith Odamah has on his WhatsApp status, "No time is too late for change". If you cannot reach others who might need your services during this lock down, you need to scale up. If there is anything I would like you to take up as a personal task during this lock down, it is this, summarized in a single word, EVOLVE. The more you evolve, the better you can serve humanity. Keep evolving.
Kindly share your thoughts. We all need them to become better.
