Where am I Going?

This is the fifth among the questions which anyone willing to make impact should endeavour to find an answer to. 'Where am I Going to?' is a question that bothers on destination. Where you are heading to, among others, would determine your companions, commitments, conducts , and levels of preparation.

'Where am I Going?' is a question that not only  summarizes the life and times of a person here on earth, but equally have irredeemable impact on the eternity of such individual. One of the surest ways of answering the question, 'Where am I Going?', is asking these other questions, 'Where have I been?' and 'Where am I presently?'  This is because most often than not, the future is a product of the past and the present. At a point in time, even God had to ask Adam, 'Where art thou?'.  While the past is gone forever, only this present time is yours. And even this present time if you are very conscious is passing away. Did you notice that the hand of the clock had passed severally since you started reading.  Check the time now so that you would realized how much of it had passed when you are done reading.

It is very important that you ask the question, 'Where am I going? because whether you make conscious efforts about the future or not, certainly you are going. Nothing stays the same. Your age, your skin, your environment, and many others too numerous to mention are all going.

Here is another question, 'How can I contribute to where I am going?' The Scriptures in Ephesians 5: 15-16 provides some answers; it reads thus:

"See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the times because the days are evil".

The answer to the question, 'How can I contribute to where I am going?' as stated above is very explicit: be wise. Why do you need to be wise? It is possible to walk: moving from place to place, giving an impression that progress is being made, but unfortunately, all these 'activities' may just be a manifestation of foolishness.

In all these, what will wisdom do for you?

Firstly, wisdom will bring you face to face with the brevity of life. David prayed in Psalms 39:4, " LORD, make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days, what it is; that I may know how frail I am". Wisdom reveals to you that truly life is short, hence it should be lived consciously well. Consciously well!

Secondly, wisdom will make you realize that investments which will endure are those made  towards God and humanity. After all is said and done, what you have done towards God and to better humanity would be your enduring assets. Severally, the Scriptures admonished us to ' be rich towards God', 'lay up treasures in heaven'.

Thirdly, wisdom makes you realize that where and how you started is irrelevant. What matters the most is where and how you ended. Where and how you end is important because your end is determined. I will give two examples to buttress this point. Samson started off well, but ended badly. Read Judges chapters 13 and 15 respectively. Though born to be a Deliverer, he died with with his captors. Talking Judah, though he made some mistakes when he was starting off in life. He went down to marrying a Canaanite woman. Other negative events followed. He lost his two sons. He proved his sexual indiscipline by coming in unto an harlot. He committed infidelity which resulted in the birth of Pharez and Zarah: children born unto him by his daughter-in-law, Tamar. Read Gen 38. Yet, he ended well. I Chronicles 5:2 reads,
"For Judah prevailed above his brethren, and of him came the chief ruler; but the birthright was Joseph's."

Fourthly, by wisdom you would learn that you will be remembered not necessarily by the food you ate, the clothes you wore, the placed you lived, but by two principal things: the problems you created and the ones you solved. What you have done before or doing presently  has created or solved problems. It all boils down to these two things. This is the more reason why you need to surround yourself with those who can encourage you when discouraged, call you to order when drifting, and propel you to lofty heights when you are getting satisfied.

The fifth point is this: wisdom will make you realize that life is lived once. This singular lifetime is the only opportunity to prepare for life without end: eternity. Equally, while people may guess right or wrong with respect to your eternal destination, you cannot switch location when you finally arrive. Your destination determines your fate ultimately.

I am convinced that you desire a life of impact; I mean greater impact: one that outlives you. Then, pursue wisdom. Get wisdom; its the principal thing. Live by it so that you can secure yourself, all that yours, and become relevant in time and eternity.

JOURNEY TO GREATER HEIGHTS

And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth. Deut. 28:1 There is an height beyond where you are now. No matter how high you have gone, there is still a greater height. Therefore, let your slogan be, “higher everyday”. This is why Jesus keeps calling men upward. He calls from sin to salvation, from salvation to consecration, consecration to Holy Ghost baptism, from HolyGhost baptism to manifesting to manifesting the fruits of the Spirit, and so on, and so forth. Jesus said in John 12:32, “If I be lifted from above the earth, I will draw all men unto myself”. According to the bible text, the individual willing to embark on the journey to greater height must, hearken diligently, and observe to do all instructions rolled out to him or her. Prayers is one of the conditions which anyone prep...

DIVINE PROJECT

Being confident of this, that He who has begun a good work in you, is able to perfect them till the day of the Lord Jesus. (paraphrased) Phil 1:6 Life does not give you what you desire, but what you demand for. This is why most times, it's not the first time that you apply for a visa, job that you were given; it's not the first time that you wrote that exam that you passed. Life answers to the persistent. If you're persistent in your asking, particularly from the right source, you'll be consistent in receiving. Make this declaration boldly, "I AM A DIVINE PROJECT, I WILL NOT BE ABANDONED. In life, nothing starts as a completed task. Project means  to make something new or improve something. It means to make manifest something. However, not all projects eventually becomes what it was intended to be. A divine project is a life or destiny that God wants to use to make a statement to the world. The world is waiting for the manifestation of the sons and daughters of God...
