Someone might say, "Where am I from?" is the simplest question to answer. That fellow could just add his or her town, village, city, province or even country as an answer. Valid as that may seem, the answer is way beyond that. "Where am I from?" is a question that bothers on origin. So, "What is origin?". Origin is the point or place where something or someone begins, arises from or is derived. Simply put, the origin is the source or the fountainhead. A proper understanding of this question and its appropriate answer is pivotal to fulfilling your purpose in life.
While you must continue to appreciate your parents: the human vessels through whom God graciously allowed your birth, you must never forget your true origin: The Almighty God. David knew this so well, hence he wrote in the ninth verse of the thirty sixth chapter of Psalms, " For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light". Having identified your real origin. The next question is, "How do I begin to reflect the nature of my true origin?". This series is meant to be participatory, hence, I would give few answers to this question, and kindly request you to supply your answers too.
To reflect the nature of your true origin, you must pursue a personal and progressive relationship with God. This is one point that cannot be overemphasized. All these hide and seek, lukewarmness, and dual living must stop. You must be deliberate about it. Secondly, you must commit to a life of long-term perpetual growth through the study, integration and application of scriptural principles to everyday living. The scriptures provides guidelines on dealing with marital, political, economic, social, parenting, administrative, communal issues et all. Thirdly, God being a problem solver has in His infinite wisdom decided to solve some problems through people like you and I. Hence, learn to discover and discern the problems you were created to solve; acquire skills and build capacity to rise up to the challenge. This is where your light is meant to shine to the brightest.
