VICTORIOUS WORSHIP ALTAR



Worship(genuine worship) is not really about you; it is everything about God. Therefore, because worship is everything about God, only God deserves your worship. What you worship determines your worth! Therefore, whatever rules over you directly or indirectly has forcefully taken your worship. Even the devil knew the significance of worship, no wonder he asked for the worship of Jesus so that he could give him the world. However, Jesus rebuked him steadfastly, saying, “only the Lord your God shall be worshipped”.

Many times when we talk about worshipping, people think about going to a special place-mountain, altar or somewhere afar off. Yes! That's good; It is correct. However, Jesus said in John 4: 20-24, a time is coming when it won't matter where you worship, whether at Jerusalem or any of the mountains. The time Jesus was referring to is a time, a point, a stage in your life where instead of going to one special place/mountain or altars to worship, you yourself becomes the altar where God is worshipped. Patriarchs like Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses etc built altars unto God. However, David went further. In addition to building altars to God. David himself became an altar for God. His life became a living, lively and mobile altar, where total worship emanates unto God. 2 Samuel 23:1 described David not just as a man raised, and anointed by God, but as The Sweet Psalmist of Israel. When you become God's victorious worship altar, breakthroughs,  victory, success will become the order of the day in your life.

There  is a difference between Worship and Praise. When you “Praise” God, you are thanking Him for what He has done, however, when you “worship”, you appreciate Him for who He is. Your miracles may not have arrived yet, but you know that He has answered your prayers. You may not have started seeing the fulfilment of His promises, yet you know  that He can never lie. Num 23:19. That is why worship is individualistic. The way God is to you, might not be the way He is revealed to me. The manner and volume of your worship to God  is a direct function of how much He is to you. Is He your God?; your Source?; your Defender? your Sufficiency? etc, then worship Him as such.
