To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give them eauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called the tree of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified. Ishiah 61:3
The entrance of glory into any life, family, carrier or ministry, automatically means the exit of shame. This is because glory and shame cannot co-exist. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehend it not. John 1:5 The light that represent God’s glory shines into the darkness prevalent in the world, and darkness surrendered, because it could not understand the light. On one occasion during the earthly ministry Jesus Christ, seeing the mighty miracles wrought by Him, someone said, “we never saw it on this fashion before”.
The good news is that God is saying to you “farewell to shame”. This simply means that He wants to reposition you. Any life where Christ is not fully permitted to reign cannot be fully excused from shame. One astonishing revelation from our bible text, Ishiah 61:3, is that it is possible to mourn in Zion. Zion represent the house of God, where people are supposed to be saved, delivered, and rejoice. After all, Obadiah 1:17 says, “On mount zion, there shall be deliverance and holiness,...” However, in that same place where rejoicing should be the norm, the scriptures says, people could still mourn. How possible is this? When you regularly come to Zion, and Zion has not come into you. Though you regularly frequent church, and even performs some duties, but you have not completely yielded your life to Jesus Christ, The Head of The Church Himself, to be your Lord and savior, shame still lurks around you. For mourning to end in your life, you need the everlasting light. Thy sun shall no more go down ; neither shall thy moon withdraw itself: for the LORD shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended. Ishiah 60:20.
A number of things can cause shame. Some of them are: failure, delay, denial, sin poverty, etc. But when God steps in, whatever has been the cause of shame will be uprooted. In Luke 5:1-7, Shame was starring a reputable fisherman in the face. Simeon was an authority in this field of fishing; he knew when to go to the sea, where to spread his net, and all other techniques that pertains to fishing. But on a certain day, all techniques failed him. Simeon and his folks were so disappointed that the bibles said, “they were washing their nets”. This action of theirs symbolizes the fact that they had given up. In their hearts, questions like “what will I offer to those depending on me for survival?”, must have been asked rhetorically. However, when Simeon yielded to the master’s request, he secured net sinking catch, so much that his boat was not enough. His ship and that of his friend, which he secured because of the net-braking catch began to sink. What an amazing end to shame!
Apart from embracing The Light of Life, and yielding to God’s instruction as ways out of shame, you will also need to cry out to God. You may not be able to fathom how He will pull you out of shame, but when you pray, He’ll adopt a most suitable method, because He has said in Jer. 33:3, “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things , which thouknowest not. When a widow decided to cry to God’s anointed servant, she moved from poverty to penury. 2 Kings 4:1-7 “Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying , Thy servant my husband is dead ; and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the LORD: and thecreditor is come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen…” . When Hannah, who was considered barren cried to God, she became mother of children. David in one of his psalms said, “When I cry to God, so shall my enemies turn back, for this I know that the Lord is with me”. You must keep crying to him till He responds. Surely, as you call upon Him, He’ll grant your requests. However, he doesn’t hear the prayer of a sinner, confess your sin to Him, accept him as your Lord, obey His instruction, Call upon Him today, and shame will exit your life completely.
