Fresh harvest connotes new harvest. if there is a fresh harvest, there must have been an old harvest. This sis why God said in Joel 2:23, I have sent the former rain, now i will send the latter rain. The former rain brought the former harvest, the latter rain will usher in latter harvest; the fresh harvest. The Lord is talking about fresh harvest now because He wants you to stop feeding on yester years resources. Thank God for the saving of yester years, but what you need now is the fresh harvest. Prov.4:18 buttress this fact by saying, "the path of the just is as shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day The fresh harvest is actually manna. Manna is a food of the now. It is prepared and served now! Only God can provide manna.
When Jesus said in Matt. 6:30-34, "take no thoughts for tomorrow...", it is because He has already prepared manna for you. He wants you to trust Him daily for fresh harvest. Why not heed the advice of that hymn writer, "trust and obey". When you trust and obey Him, you'll certainly get your own share of the fresh harvest, for "He giveth us our daily bread". What other assurance of continous supply of fresh harvest do you require, when Psalms 68:19 says, "He loadeth us with daily benefits".
Harvest(s) don't just come that way; they are produced by seeds. The seeds showered abundantly by the rain produces a robust and fresh harvest. "Ask ye of the Lord rain in the times of the latter rain, so that the Lord will make bright clouds and send latter rain upon the earth." Zech. 10:1 No matter how productive a seed would have been, if it is sowed in the wrong soil, it will not germinate. In the sower's parable, nothing was wrong with the seed(s), rather it was with the soil. The place of planting eventually determined the outcome of these same seeds. If you've been sowing and not repeaing, watch where you are planting.
Among the many requirements for fresh harvests is SACRIFICIAL GIVING. "Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground, it abideth alone..." If the seed is sown, it will grow. Without planting, there cannot be harvest. The corn of wheat must fall into the ground before it can multiply. The "fall" here connotes giving. "Fall", could also mean "letting it go". when you sow a seed, it will not germinate immediately. It appears to have been dead(buried, underneath). Actually, your seed is not dead, it is only being processed. Without a seed dying first, it cannot yield forth! Perharps, you;ve been sowing in the right soil, and yet there's no germination, who knows, it might still be in the dying stage. The foetus will have to die to the world of the womb for it to yield forth(be born) into the real life."Cast thy bread upon the waters, after many days you will find it". There is cerainity you will find it after many days."Many days", connotes a time interval. Apostle Paul equally told the Galatians about this when he said, "Be not weary in well doing for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not". "After many days" and "due season" in these scriptures connotes a time interval. Irrespective of the time interval, harvest is guaranteed. However, if sowing is not done, harvest will be far fetched.Without sowing, the seed will remain in its very minute shape.
There are so many things you can sow to obtain fresh harvest. What ever that emanates from you is your seed, therefore it can be sowed. Apart from your money and material things, your time can be sowed. David had said, "My times are in thine hand Oh Lord".You can sow yourself as well. This means you become a living sacrifice. You've been given completely to Him(absolute sacrifice), yet you live, however, not your life, but living His life. Paul said, "I want to spend and be spent for God". He latter declared, "I am crucified with Christ, nevertheless I live, yet not I, but Christ liveth in me; and the life which I now live, I live by the faith of the son of God who loved me and gave Himself for me. When you give life completely to Him, nothing can take away your life. This is because as you compleletly give your life to Him, your life becomes Hid with Christ in God!
